KC Comic Book Character “Amigoman-The Latin Avenger”
To Be Featured In Internationally Syndicated BALDO Comic Strip to Honor Hispanic Heritage Month.

The dynamic duo comic book artists, Anthony “AO” Oropeza & “Super Artist” Lorenzo Lizana of the Amigoman - The Latin Avenger bilingual comic book produced by Oropeza’s Strong Ave. Studios (KC), along with three other artists across the country, were invited to be guess artists for a one-time only guess appearance in a Sunday Comic strip spot. The spot they will be featured in is the internationally syndicated Baldo (blogs.gocomics.com) comic strip spot. Each artist will feature their own comic book creations, character(s) and/or their unique style of art with any or the Baldo characters for a unique cross-over Sunday special honoring Hispanic Heritage Month.
Oropeza’s bilingual comic book super hero, Amigoman – The Latin Avenger, will be featured on Sunday, October 11th in over 200 national syndicated newspapers.

The Amigoman – The Latin Avenger comic book centers around the Latino super hero character (AKA Antonio Alvarado) who after being steered away from the gang life at an early age by his grandfather (Gramps) and shown the way to a better like is by having a purpose in life, staying out of trouble and finishing school, comes home during his first year at law school to find his grandfather brutally mugged and killed. He then plans to bring the killers to justice and then continue his law studies. But in order to find the killers he does so behind the mask of the AMIGOMAN.
Baldo is a daily comic strip featuring the exploits of teenager Baldo Bermudez and his family. The strip provides a warm and gently humorous look at the Latino experience while offering a take on what it's like to be young in modern America.

Baldo co-creators, Hector Cantu and Carlos Castellanos, of the hit comic strip Baldo <http://www.gocomics.com/baldo> , are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month by stepping out of the spotlight and allowing a quartet of star Hispanic cartoonists to take the reins of their creation for the next four Sundays.

The Baldo comic strip project would allow the guess artists to take one Sunday comic strip spot during the 2009 Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 – Oct. 15) and would require that the strip incorporate the artist’s character and style with any of the Baldo characters.
“We were very excited to be asked by these two well known and talented artists and we’re excited to be allowed to show our Amigoman character via a large number of newspapers and a web comic site across the country. Unfortunately, Baldo isn’t carried by The (Kansas City) STAR so people in KC will have to check it out on-line and not in print” said, Oropeza.

Castellanos and Cantu were thrilled with the results.

"It was exciting not knowing exactly what they were going to come up with."
"Of course they're all pros, so they all did a remarkable job," said Cantu. "…Oropeza and Lizana gave us a dramatic meeting between Amigoman and Baldo… Wow!"

Baldo is syndicated internationally by Universal Uclick / Universal Press Syndicate (A division of Andrews McMeel Universal).
