of Amigoman Discusses Publishing on Library Panel in KC!
Kansas City MO: The Kansas City Public Library hosted
the Latino Children’s Book Festival, June 4 and 5,
2011, at the Plaza Branch in KCMO.
On June 5th, a panel discussion titled How to Select and
Effectively Use Bilingual Books was held featuring: guest
of honor René Colato Laínez; and your very
own Amigoman creator Anthony Oropeza; Plaza Branch children’s
librarian April Roy, and, I.H. Ruiz Branch manager Julie
Robinson.

Anthony was very honored
to be part the panel and was glad to share his experiences
starting from the ground up in publishing his own bilingual
comic book. He expressed the ups and downs of publishing,
working on a shoestring budget, teh importance in working
with a team and how importatnt it is to give schools and
kids a cool and fun to keep reading. It was a great time
and all enjoyed listening and a FREE Amigoman issue!
